![]() While the Submarine Lagoon is one again full and populated with the iconic fleet of yellow subs, Disneyland has yet to release an official reopening date for the Tomorrowland attraction. As the phased reopenings continue well over a year later, we now see that Disneyland is on the cusp of letting passengers board the subs once again. Considering the vehicles already have a low capacity and puts passengers into such close quarters, it was no surprise they didn’t open alongside the park. Thought not an exact retelling of the story from the film, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage sees familiar characters from the films and recognizable environments that passengers traverse through on their way to find a deep-sea underwater volcano. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is an attraction in the Tomorrowland area of Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. Originally opened in 2007, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is the retheming and reintroduction of Disneyland’s classic Submarine Voyage that closed in 1998, brought back to life with the characters and story from Pixar Animation Studios’ Academy Award Winning 2003 film, Finding Nemo. You can even see some of the props visible on the ride in scenes, including some of the tikis and crabs. That time frame came and went but more progress was taking place in the drained lagoon that was visible from the Disneyland Monorail as it cruised overhead.Īs of yesterday, May 28th, 2022, the lagoon is once again filled with crystal clear water, with all the colors of the refurbished recycled glass coated reefs of the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage shining vibrantly throughout. The attraction was loosely inspired by the 1958 voyage to the North Pole by the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, which shares its name with the fictional submarine in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. ![]() Back in 2021, graphics and signage appeared on walls surrounding the submarine lagoon in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park announcing that the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage would return in the Winter of that year. The original Submarine Voyage debuted on Jand was one of the first E Ticket attractions.
